People with Disabilities

Oral Presentations

This task will expose students to a person with a disability and lead to a task about the chosen person. The student will read, find or create a clip, prepare a written and later an oral presentation about the chosen person.

Objective: The goal of this task is to expose the student to a person of his choice who copes with a disability. The students will read, explore for clips, prepare a written presentation and then orally present to the class.

MethodologyWe will watch a couple of clips about exceptional people with disabilities. Students will be directed to an article which presents eight outstanding people who have reached outstanding  accomplishments despite their disabilities.

Students will choose one person to focus on or go elsewhere to find another person to focus on.

They will also find a clip about this person, find pictures and write about the person.

After completing their written task, they will use the pictures only to present what they have learned to the class.
